Help and support

Quick answers for Gio Trains on iPhone and Apple Watch. If you still need help, email support@giovanniintini.it.

Restore purchases

Gio Trains Pro is a one-time purchase. On a new iPhone or after reinstalling the app, open Settings in Gio Trains and tap Restore Purchases in the Gio Trains Pro card. The same button is at the bottom of Explore Pro. Use the Apple Account you bought Pro with.

Cloud Backup is an annual subscription that belongs to the cloud account you subscribed with. Open Settings → Backup & recovery, tap Sign in with Apple with that same Apple Account, then tap Restore Cloud Purchase.

Restoring a purchase gives you back its features, not your training history. To bring back your progress, see Moving to a new iPhone.

Cancel Cloud Backup

In Gio Trains, open Settings → Backup & recovery and, while signed in, tap Manage Subscription under Cloud account. You can also cancel in your iPhone’s Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions. See Apple’s guide to cancelling a subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Cloud Backup keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. Then new uploads stop, and your saved backups stay available to restore for 90 days before they are deleted. Deleting the app or your cloud account does not cancel the subscription.

Refunds

Apple handles all payments for Gio Trains, so refund requests go to Apple. We can’t issue refunds or see your payment details. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in with your Apple Account and choose the Gio Trains purchase.

If Apple approves a refund, that purchase’s features stop: Pro locks again, or Cloud Backup stops uploading. Your training progress stays on your iPhone.

Your recovery code

The recovery code is the key that encrypts your backups on your iPhone. You need it to open an encrypted backup file and to restore from Cloud Backup. In Gio Trains, open Settings → Backup & recovery, tap Prepare or reveal recovery code, save the code, then tap I saved my recovery code.

Keep a copy outside the app, for example in a password manager. The code is never sent to us, so support can’t look it up, reset it or recover it. Without it, nobody can open your backups, not even us.

The code is stored on your iPhone. It isn’t copied to a new iPhone, even when you transfer your data or restore an iCloud backup, unless you keep a copy in iCloud Keychain: while signed in, turn on Keep a copy in iCloud Keychain on the same screen. The code then syncs to your other Apple devices, end-to-end encrypted by Apple, while iCloud Keychain is on. Anyone who controls your Apple Account could then open your backups. Turning the option off removes the copy from iCloud Keychain on all your devices.

Moving to a new iPhone

Your training is stored on your iPhone. Have your recovery code ready, then choose one of these:

  • Encrypted file, free: on your old iPhone, open Settings → Backup & recovery and tap Export encrypted backup. Save the file where your new iPhone can reach it, such as iCloud Drive, or send it with AirDrop. On the new iPhone, tap Import backup file on the same screen, enter your recovery code, check the preview and tap Restore this backup.
  • Cloud Backup: on the new iPhone, open Backup & recovery and tap Sign in with Apple with the same Apple Account. If you keep a copy of the code in iCloud Keychain, tap Use the code saved in iCloud Keychain. Otherwise, enter your code in Existing recovery code and tap Use existing code. Choose a backup under Saved versions, then tap Use the code saved in iCloud Keychain or enter the code, check the preview and tap Restore this backup. To keep backing up from the new iPhone, tap Use this iPhone and turn on Automatic cloud backup.

On a fresh install, you can also get there from Already a hero? Recover your progress on the first screen. Afterwards, restore Pro with Restore Purchases and connect Apple Health again. Your crew is saved with your account, so it comes back when you sign in with the same Apple Account.

Crew invitations

A crew is a private group of up to 6 people. Crew is free. It needs an internet connection and an Apple sign-in, but not Pro or Cloud Backup.

To invite friends, open the Crew tab and tap Start a crew if you haven’t yet. Then tap Invite and Create invitation. Send the link with Share invitation, or tap Copy code and send the code. Each invitation is for one friend: it works once, expires after 7 days and doesn’t reserve a place. To cancel one that hasn’t been used, tap Revoke invitation.

To join, install Gio Trains and open the invitation link on your iPhone. You can also open the Crew tab, tap I have an invite and enter the code. Tap Continue with Apple to sign in, then Preview invitation. Choose your nickname and what to share, then tap Join this crew. You only join when you confirm.

If the link opens a web page instead of the app, open the page in Safari and tap Open Gio Trains, or copy the code from the page. If an invitation has expired or was already used, ask for a new one. You can be in one crew at a time: leave your current crew in your Crew profile before joining another.

Apple Watch

Apple Watch workouts are part of Gio Trains Pro and need watchOS 11 or later. The Watch app works with Gio Trains on your iPhone. If it isn’t on your Watch yet, install it from the Watch app on your iPhone or from the App Store on your Watch.

To connect, finish setup in Gio Trains on your iPhone first. Then keep both devices nearby, open Gio Trains on both and tap Connect on the Watch.

If the Watch still asks for Pro after you bought it, tap Check Purchase on the Watch and make sure both devices use the same Apple Account. Watch workouts sync to your iPhone whenever the two can connect. To send waiting changes right away, tap Sync with iPhone on the Watch.

Apple Health export

Health export is optional and part of Pro. In Gio Trains, open Settings, tap Apple Health, then Connect Apple Health, and allow Workouts when Apple asks. New workouts are then added automatically; the Automatically add new workouts switch turns this off and on. To add earlier sessions, tap Add eligible past workouts.

Gio Trains only writes workouts: pushups and squats as Functional Strength Training, situps as Core Training, with start and end times, pauses, and your confirmed sets and reps. It never reads your Health data and doesn’t estimate calories, heart rate or distance. Watch workouts are added after they sync to your iPhone.

If workouts stop appearing, open Apple Health, go to your profile → Apps → Gio Trains and turn on Workouts. Health permission isn’t part of backups, so connect again on a new iPhone. Turning export off leaves the workouts already in Health; delete them there if you want.

Delete your cloud account

Cloud Backup and Crew share one cloud account. To delete it, open Settings → Backup & recovery while signed in, tap Delete cloud account under Cloud account and confirm with Apple.

This permanently deletes your cloud backups and your Crew account data. The training on your iPhone stays. Export an encrypted file first if you want a copy, and keep your own copy of the recovery code to open it: deleting the account removes the code from your iPhone and from iCloud Keychain. Deleting doesn’t cancel your Apple subscription, so cancel it first with Manage Subscription. The privacy policy explains what is deleted and when.

Contact support

Email support@giovanniintini.it. It helps to include:

  • Your iPhone model and iOS version, from your iPhone’s Settings → General → About.
  • The Gio Trains version, from Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Gio Trains, and the build number if you test with TestFlight.
  • For Apple Watch questions, your Watch model and watchOS version.
  • What you did, what you expected and what happened. Screenshots help; make sure none shows a recovery code.

Never send your recovery code, Apple Account password, verification codes or payment-card details. We never ask for them and don’t need them to help you.
